About the Achievement The University Startup World Cup is a prestigious international competition that brings together startups from universities around the world. Hosted in Denmark, the event showcases innovative business ideas developed by students and recent graduates. The competition evaluates startups based on innovation, market potential, business model, and social impact.
Our Startup Our startup, Techiro, presented "InCrane" - an Industrial IoT solution for container crane maintenance and monitoring. The system uses IoT sensors, computer vision, and thermal imaging to predict and prevent component failures in port container cranes, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
Competition Process The competition involved: 1. Initial selection from over 500 university startups worldwide 2. Invitation to the finals in Copenhagen, Denmark with 70 selected startups 3. Preliminary pitch rounds and expert mentoring sessions 4. Final pitch to a panel of international investors and industry experts
Award Securing 3rd place in the Private Sector Technology-Based category brought: - Trophy and recognition certificate - $10,000 USD prize money - Connection to international investors and mentors - Media coverage in European tech publications - Invitation to participate in European startup accelerator programs
